4c4more

4C4More is a research project in which research is done into the use of Cross Chain Control Centres (4C). The main objective of 4C is increasing the efficiency by bundling resources and knowledge, as a result of better cooperation within the supply chain and between different supply chains. Bundled transport reduces the number of ‘empty kilometres’ and the emissions of CO2. In addition, bundling results in cost savings.

The participants in 4C4More include nine businesses and five knowledge institutes. They are supported by central government and Dinalog (Dutch Institute for Advanced Logistics). The three participating logistics service providers are Kuehne+Nagel, Nabuurs and Bakker Logistiek. Together, we are good for 1200 lorries in the Netherlands. In cooperation with our customers, we bundle our transport volumes with the support of one overall transport planning tool.
