Moreover, cooperation and sustainability are key.

Cooperation is our strength. Internal cooperation between our three business units (Bakker Logistiek, Becker Logistiek and Broersma Logistiek), but also cooperation with external parties varying from customers and fellow transporters to government bodies and knowledge institutes.

An example of cooperation with customers is the warehouse for cheese that we run together with a Dutch retail organisation. All - more than 30 - cheese suppliers of the retailer have their own stocks in this warehouse: in total more than 500 different products. We order pick and deliver on demand to the distribution centres of retailers: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each of the various cheese suppliers no longer have to individually drive to the distribution centres of the retailer. We bundle the various orders, which results in greater efficiency and lower costs while reducing the impact on the environment and roads.

In Hazeldonk distribution centre on the Belgian-Dutch border, we collaborate very well with a non-food service provider, Nabuurs, according to the shared user concept: Various suppliers deliver their goods to the distribution centre and we bundle the goods for delivery to the customer. The location of the distribution centre means that both the Dutch and the Belgian markets can be supplied.

We are a partner in Profresh, the comprehensive logistics network for the conditioned transport of fresh foodstuffs in the Benelux, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland.
